Jennifer Butler, MPT has been providing Physical Therapy care for all types of cancer-related issues for over 17 years in the Northen Idaho and Greater Spokane areas.  She is trained in multiple areas of pre-operative and post-operative rehabilitation.  She understands cancer-related fatigue issues, and delicately incorporates manual therapy and exercises to improve both physical and mental outcomes.  She is very aware that patients are experiencing physical and emotional changes which may inhibit them from participating in the things they love to do, creating social isolation, which is the exact opposite of what is recommended during recovery.  Here at Butler Physical Therapy, our goal is to improve your quality of life!

Jennifer Butler, MPT will set forth a plan to address a patient’s physical and emotional healing that will allow them to re-connect with their dreams and desires. Best of all, she will make that treatment sincere and fun.  

Jennifer specializes in: 

• Evaluating each patient thoroughly and creating a plan of care that addresses all areas of concern.  
• Strain Counterstrain-a manual therapy that improves the neuromuscular network helping the veins work more efficiently, allowing the body to rid swelling and lymph fluid much faster. 
• Manual Lymph Drainage-a manual therapy addressing Lymphedema that may develop as lymph nodes or node pathways are often removed or damaged in surgery.  
• Measuring for compression garments and compression pumps for home use
• Scar tissue mobilization allowing return to full range of motion and function, addressing axillary cording as needed
• Cancer-related exercise programs during radiation, chemotherapy, and post-cancer care.
• Individualized daily home exercise programs to keep the patient working toward their goals, improving their quality of life. 
• Providing a positive, emotionally safe and healing environment for all patients.
